This page is dedicated to harp workshops, concerts and other harp-related events in North America and around the world. If you have an event you'd like mentioned here, just e-mail the details (date, time, place, web page if you have one, and a contact number or e-mail address) to events@celticharper.com.
As of 2007, we are now also listing early music concerts and other early music events in a new section below. Early music groups and websites are listed in our Historical section; Celtic music events and pages can be found in our Celtic Links section.
July 21-25 '08 - Country Airs Harp Camp, an annual event held on a farm in Woodslee, ON. There will be three instructors providing fun and learning through art, harp instruction, composition, drama, storytelling. The cost is $200 (CDN) for this day camp, lunch and snacks included plus all supplies for activities. Last year we outgrew the house so our final concert was in the barn with the new foal, Whiskey, watching. Contact Anita Leschied 519 975-0260, Woodslee, Ontario.
August 4-10 '08 - Goderich Celtic College and Celtic Roots Festival (Aug. 8-10), Goderich, Ontario. The website probably won't be fully updated until sometime later this spring, but the current dates and contact information are now up at www.celticfestival.ca. If you're thinking of attending the Celtic College, planning ahead is a good idea, since the hotel rooms and B&B spots fill up quickly! The two times I've taken harp classes at the Goderich College they were both very rewarding experiences. Goderich is a lovely place to spend a week immersed in Celtic Culture, whether your main interest is music, dance, song, or artwork. The festival (Fri.-Sun.) is always top-notch, with tons of great performers (including harpists!). I'll be sure to add in the details for this year's harp teachers and performers as soon as that information becomes available. Hope to see you there! - T.H.

The cottage where the ceilidhs take place is located on Lake Ainslie about 15 miles east of Inverness. Any interested person should call (902)756-2214. We are also a new harp and folk music store in the area, and are doing the ceilidhs out of our home for the love of Celtic music. Fiddles, whistles, flutes and other instruments are welcome. The emphasis is traditional old world Celtic. I am particularly fond of slow airs, if that piques anyone else's interest. - Info courtesy of Cliff, harpandlore@yahoo.com

There will be more choices, more harps, music, accessories. Janet Harbison of Ireland, Ray Pool, Christina Tourin, Pamela Bruner, Christine Van Arsdale, Eve Watters, Sue Hoadley, Nancy and Frank Clark, and William Rees are the beginning of our clinician lineup. And, we have a new conference coordinator! I am happy to introduce to you Nicole Riley of Verge Events. This note is being sent from Nicole’s e-mail. She will make this year even smoother yet the conference will still have the same down-to-earth flavor that makes it so loved. Comments courtesy of Carolyn Deal.
