July 19th '09 - 'Harpists for Peace' Day. An exciting event where harpists all over the world will play for an hour at 2pm (local time) on that date, near important public buildings, town squares, places of political significance etc, to promote World Peace. August 3-9, '09 - Goderich Celtic College & Celtic Roots Festival. The 2009 Goderich Celtic College runs from August 3-6, followed by the festival from August 7-9. Grainne Hambly will be teaching harp classes again this year, along with Sharon Johnston and Allie Robertson. www.celticfestival.ca

Ongoing: Harp Ensemble Class with Alys Howe, Vancouver, B.C. Offered at the intermediate level, twice a month on alternate Tuesday evenings near UBC. An instructional offering in which members are taught tunes and coached as an ensemble, working on technique, musicality, arranging, and performance skills within the context of our common repertoire. Ongoing: Celt's Cauldron Ceilidhs, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, 1st and 3rd weekend of every month. The cottage where the ceilidhs take place is located on Lake Ainslie about 15 miles east of Inverness. Any interested person should call (902)756-2214. We are also a new harp and folk music store in the area, and are doing the ceilidhs out of our home for the love of Celtic music. Fiddles, whistles, flutes and other instruments are welcome. July 31 '09 - Moira Nelson and Elena Jubinville return to On the Verandah to combine their voices, harp, cello and guitars with percussion by Laura Savage. Friday, July 31, 7:30 pm. Benares Historic House, 1507 Clarkson Road North, Clarkson, Ontario. This performance is part of the "On the Verandah" concert series presented by the Friends of the Museums of Mississauga, ON. Aug. 13 '09 - Moira Nelson and Elena Jubinville blend harp, cello, guitars and vocal harmonies in concert at the Garden Square Cafe. Thursday, August 13. 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm. This performance is part of a Thursday lunchtime concert series on the outdoor stage in front of the Rose Theatre, 1 Theatre Lane, Brampton, ON. Admission is free.
