Celtic Harp Page updates

ltlgreenharpWe’ve finally completed our (long overdue) new year’s update of the Celtic Harp Page, including the Harp Events section, which now lists upcoming 2013 events along with our usual list of ongoing and annual events and other related links.

If you have an event, listing, or other link you would like to recommend, leave us a comment here.  Ditto if you would like your page, organization, band or event to be featured on the Harp Blog.  We’d love to hear from you!    – T.H.

Celtic Harp Page Updates

The New Year’s update of the Celtic Harp Page is well under-way. Our harp-related Events section has been updated for 2012, and we’ve reactivated the popular Used and Wanted Harps classified section after a long hiatus due to increased interest from scammers back in 2010.

If you have your company or group listed on the Celtic Harp Page, please check to make sure that all your information is correct and up-to-date. If not, let us know by sending a note to comments @ celticharper.com (without the spaces).

Events listings can be sent to events @ celticharper.com

Advance Planning: Goderich Celtic College & Festival

The 2012 Dates and Info for the Goderich Celtic College & Celtic Roots Festival are up early this year! Both Kim Robertson and Sharlene Wallace will be there, along with a ton of other amazing Celtic and folk musicians.

Schedules and other updates will be posted on their main site, so keep an eye on http://www.celticfestival.ca/

If you’re on Facebook, you can visit the Celtic Roots Festival Facebook page here.

Goderich was hard hit by a tornado in 2011, and is still rebuilding, so they can use all the help you can give. Information on donations and volunteer efforts can be found here.

HarPO – Harp Players of Ontario

Calling all Ontario harp players!

I’ve expanded our Peterborough-Kawarthas Facebook page to include all of Ontario, since there didn’t seem to be another spot like it on FB. Everyone is welcome to drop by and post upcoming events, harp tips &etc. or just say hi. The name was so obvious that I’m sure someone else has thought of it before me, but I just couldn’t resist.

Here’s a condensed link (since links to FB pages are impossibly long):

Hope to see you over there!

October Northern Lights Harp Fest in Ottawa: Deadline July 15!

The folks organizing the Northern Lights Harp Fest in Ottawa in October (Oct. 2-4 2009) are trying to encourage everyone who is interested to register ASAP, so they can meet their minimum number of 60 participants by July 15.  It would be truly excellent to be able to have a regular harp conference in Ontario, since for most of us, travelling to the bigger conferences in the USA often isn’t feasible.  But, in order for that to happen, they first need to make this year’s conference a success.

Please pass this info along to any harp players you may know.  Students and beginners are welcome – there will be harp classes for all levels at the conference.

For more info, check out the official website:
http://www.northernlightsharpfest.com/

Let’s make this happen!
